On July 12, SAND conducted a Worship Central session at Penang Christian Centre (PCC). Around 85 worship team members from various churches gathered together for a refreshing time of worship, sharing and discussion.
For many, it was their first time getting to know worship team members from other churches. Every person was able to encourage each other and share about personal experiences as well as struggles in the worship ministry.
One of the highlights was when people were asked about their dreams for their own worship teams. It was uplifting to hear of various God-inspired goals such as releasing music CDs and traveling to minister at other places.
After fellowship and worship, attendees were in for a treat when Luke Hellebronth (from Worship Central, writer of “Spirit Break Out“) appeared on screen for a video shoutout. It was followed by sharing on worship by Lucy L and Benedict Weerasena.
A big thanks to PCC for hosting the event and we hope that many were blessed through it. Keep your eyes opened for the next Worship Central gathering, which is scheduled to be on 18 October 2015 at PCC!
This year marks the 13th year of SAND’s ministry since it started in 2002. Here are some of our moments we’d like to share with you.
There you go! 13 years and still going strong. We praise God for His grace and everyone else for your support in this ministry. We hope for better things to come as we continue to seek after God and walk in His purposes.
On Father’s Day, STARZ rocked the stage with their action-packed dance choreographed by 12-year-old Ashling Ng. Together with SAND, they entertained 150 guests at a concert and dinner event organized by Georgetown Baptist Church.
SAND founder Lucy L took the opportunity to share that many of SAND’s new songs came out of a period of trial and pain. The songs clearly hit a chord with the guests, some of whom were shedding tears.
This was the first time STARZ and SAND shared a stage, and together they brought with them a wind of freshness. Seeing these youngsters rise up to shine for God, we can be hopeful that He is continuing to set apart this new generation to be a blessing to the nations.
God’s Promise to Abraham “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies”
On May 25, SAND made a trip to Penang Chinese Girls’ Private High School. This was SAND’s third year conducting an experiential music seminar with the Form 3 students.
The students got to hear some of SAND’s songs, and were in for a treat when singer-songwriter Daniel C took the stage with his alluring voice and witty sense of humor.
After going through workshops, the students performed their rendition of “Uptown Funk” and “Try.” The day concluded with an unplanned performance of the various class songs that the students and teachers had come up with.
SAND had a blast and hopes to be there again next year!
