Background to Because of Love piano books

“I am still amazed by His grace…because of love…the star of heaven came for me.” Because of love is song in SAND first album. Two years ago, I was approached by a publisher to transcribe my songs into a piano book. With the help of Christopher Norton, the first book was published in 2006.

Because of love series comprises of original pieces composed in contemporary genres of pop, rock, swing, ballad, Latin etc. These pieces provide a refreshing supplement to the classical repertoire and will captivate the hearts of the players young and old.

One of the songs “Only You” is chosen as an exam piece for ANSCAR 2007 exam syllabus in Australia. In August 2007, two more books were published under the same series. Recently 26 pieces have been chosen by St Cecilia School of music in Australia as their exam pieces from 2008.

Love is such an important factor in our lives. It is a basic need. No matter who we are and how old we are, deep within each one of us, we have a need to be loved and to love. I would say that love is as essential as the air we breathe. Life without love is meaningless, tasteless, and colorless.

Love brings life. It motivates us, inspires us, it gives us a reason to celebrate. It is like a driving force that moves us on. These piano pieces reflect the journey in our lives. They are expressions of love in our hearts and we hope that these pieces will bring much joy to the players and listeners alike. (Lucy L)
